Prospective Staff For those looking for something great to put on their resumes, S.O.Y. Seforim Sale Inc. is looking to hire non-paid interns in the fields of marketing, information systems, accounting, and management. These interns would begin in the Fall 2007 semester and continue into the Spring 2008 semester. Interns must commit for both semesters. Estimated time commitment would be around 15 hours for the Fall Semester and between 150 and 200 hours during the Spring semester. During the Fall semester, the interns will assemble a plan relating to their niche, and begin implementing it. During the Spring semester, they will manage their work in real time. Each intern will be given the opportunity to develop professional contributions to the sale, amassing experience on a scale normally unavailable to a student. They will work with a professor on their proposal, and submit a written analysis of their experience at the conclusion of the internship. They will have the opportunity to earn between 1 and 3 business internship credits, depending on the number of hours committed, as well as the possibility of earning additional benefits at the sale. MarketingAttract Customers – In this primary marketing function, the marketing intern will be responsible for coordinating advertising, including designing and placing ads, as well as utilizing other advertising channels. Additionally, the marketing intern will handle all media inquiries. The marketing intern will work with the information systems intern on developing the web site.
Information SystemsDesign, setup, and maintain hardware – The intern will identify new technology that can help increase sales and decrease costs. The intern will be responsible to setup and maintain all hardware requirements, including network configuration, as well as be on hand for technology emergencies during all sale hours.
AccountingMaintain daily transaction journals- The interns will be responsible for recording all payments and receipts in an organized fashion.
ManagementRecruit staff and maintain morale – The intern will encourage staff applications through advertising and reward reinforcement strategies. The intern will have the task of maximizing the number of volunteer staff, as well as maximizing the commitment of each team member. Assure proper placement and training of workers- The intern will be responsible to assign shifts in order to assure that the sale is always fully and properly staffed in the different operating functions. The intern will assure that the staff is knowledgeable of their tasks and of assisting customers. |
